Oh my precious Lord God, I just heard of Mario having passed away in 2010. I left California many years ago, I was employed with Livermore Police, then Hayward Police leaving injured in 1987. Mario and I lived together in Livermore. We were roommates, and best friends. I loved Mario as if my own brother. He worked custody for the S.O. And I as an Officer for Livermore. I have never met a man more honest, understanding, professional, and yes funny, as Mario. We talked on the phone a few times a year, but never saw each other again. I moved to Kansas and we always talked about our times together.I truly loved Mario, and know without a doubt he is with our Lord forever more. See you again one day my friend.

Saw this kinda late, but like many others I grew up with Mario. Like Brian it was from grade school on. We were friends and did a lot together over the years- even made wine in high school with Mickey Solari ( Paul Bridges') brother. I'm sorry you aren't out there making everyone feel better. I will never forget you.

Mario was truly one of the best. I had'nt seen him in years as I'm from the old school daze. I met Mario in 5th grade and a few years later we collaborated on a few films we made, 8mm, very cutting edge junk. I still have them in fact.I bet his folks remember when he was getting ready to play a soldier or a mafioso. Anyway it was great and I'll always have that memory. Seeing his picture in the paper.....I could here his laugh. Love you Mario.

Your quick wit and song parodies made work fun. You will be missed. Give Curly (one of the 3 stoogies) a run for his money.

Mario, I will always remember our times together as a family. Especially our trip to Disneyland. We learned to call you Uncle Mario because you were a brother to all of us, especially to my children. We will miss you, but the memories of you will remain forever. John witnessed that great marvelous day when you came to the Lord, and a chance to be there as you went back to be with the Lord, to remain in His Presence forevermore. You always said it was a win-win situation. Being in the Presence of God Almighty will always be a win-win situation. See you in Paradise. We love you Mario. Forever, John, Lucy, Johnathan, Nathaniel, Kristy, and David.

What a shock. I haven't seen Mario in close to 18 years but he did leave an impression on me. Mario was one of those deputies I looked up to when I first started working patrol. He didn't treat a new guy, like dirt. He always had a smile and I always felt I could go to him with a question. I'm very sorry I didn't have a chance to say good-bye. We will keep the family in our prayers.

Mario, you were such a great guy and I will greatly miss you. I enjoyed my time working with you in Special Projects and all your Mario-isms. Mario always had such a strong faith in God and right now I know you are where you want to be. I will never forget you Mario. MSL

Mario was a wonderful friend to my family. He was especially warm to my mom...he knew that the two of them truly liked each other...she loved having Mario at her kitchen table. He was able to capture the essence of human nature by producing, in a blink, the best bottom-line phrases and one -liners. I looked forward to seeing him at the various courthouses in the county and it took me a long time to stop looking for him or hoping to run into him after he retired. All I have to do is close my eyes and I can see his face with that "ready for mirth" look. I am glad to have known him and for having him in my memories. MARY OAKLUND

So sorry to hear of Marios' passing. Mario and I go back to grade school at Bay elementary, Junior High at Barrett and High school at Arroyo. We had several classes together and Mario was always the jokester like me. I lost track of him after graduation, but had a brief "Hello" with him a few years back on Classmates website.
Rest in peace Mario.... you were one of the good ones!
Sincerer regards,
Brian George.

I had the pleasure to meet Mario twenty years ago in ITR. I will always remember his goofy self. His Mario-isms were classic especially his "ahhhhs". What a character!
He was always willing to help others.
He worked so much/hard that he and Scotty would stay in a RV parked closeby. His comments regarding that....made everyone laugh so hard our stomachs would hurt.
When he was diagnosed with this illness, he wrote a letter informing everyone that he was "okay" with it because of his faith in Yahweh.
True to his unselfishness..he was more worried about his parents.
Thanks for the memories and may you rest in peace...until we meet again.
