Louise Rieger Obituary

Louise Rieger Resident of San Mateo passed away peacefully on September 30, 2010, in San Mateo, CA. She was born June 24, 1914, in San Francisco and was a graduate of Mission High School. After her marriage she moved to Oakland and raised a family, and later lived in San Lorenzo. Louise was a longtime member of the San Francisco Schwaebische Frauen Verein and a friend of The Altenheim in Oakland. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernhard Rieger, and her brother, Reinhold Schulz. Louise is survived by her daughter Helen (Tim) Hanlon and her son Robert (Karen) Rieger; grand-children Kristen Hanlon (John Isles), Brian Hanlon, Nicole Rieger, Christine Rieger, and Lisa Rieger; and great-grand-children Liam and Delia Isles. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews in the United States, Germany, and Sweden. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 23 at Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church, 600 42nd Avenue, San Mateo. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to a charity of your choice.
