I send my prayers to the family of Mrs.Gayton. She was the most caring teacher I have ever encountered. She was extremely tough on her class but as I got older & wiser it donned on me that she was tough because she cared. Good teacher/people are very hard to come by and she will definitely never be forgotten. I just wish my kids could have experienced having her in their lives as well......God Bless...Rest In Paradise Mrs. Gayton....Latrice Allen C/O 86

This was a woman of God that will never be forgotten. She loved every child she laid eyes upon, and taught them as if they were her own children, with love grace and patience. She was the best teacher/principal that a child and a parent could ask for. I loved her dearly and she will be greatly missed but not forgotten.

Aunt Lilly: I can't believe you are gone. Seems just like a few weeks ago you were here in the country. I must at admit it was weird to hear that you were gone. But i know you are in a better place. I'm sure my Grandmother and Uncle Thirk were glad to see their sister come home. You were an amazing person, I can always remember asking dad when we were going to the country for holidays, "is aunt Lilly down here"... Well now you are at rest with you parents, sister, and 2 brothers. Until we met again, I love you. Your Great Niece, Kayla

Words can't express how much this Woman meant to me. Not only was she the toughest teacher, but the best teacher. I am a former student of St. Benedict. My life with her began in the first grade and even then she was on me like white on rice. LOL. Mrs. Gayton will be missed by everyone she taught at St. Benedict. Whenever I think of her, all I will be able to do is smile. RIP Mrs. Gayton. Love you with all my heart. Olander Coleman, Jr.
