WALTER ZIMA Obituary

Walter Zima Dec. 15, 1952 - Oct. 12, 2010 Former Resident of Fremont Walter, 57, of Phoenix, AZ, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family & friends on Oct. 12, 2010. He was born on Dec. 15, 1952 in San Francisco, CA. He is survived by his companion of 15 yrs, Ryan Peterson of Phoenix, AZ, sisters Kathy (Zima) Silveira, Fremont, CA, Judie Zima, Boston, Mass. & Marianne Zima, Gardnerville, NV, Uncles & Aunts, cousins, nieces & nephews, great nieces & nephews & dear friend, James Behan. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Zima & father Walter Zima, Sr. Walter enjoyed a 20 yr. career in design & a buyer for home furnishings. Walter always had a passion in life for animals & for the past 10 yrs. he enjoyed raising & breeding award winning purebred Arabian horses & was a member of the Arabian Horse Assoc. of America. Walter's sense of humor, charismatic personality & positive spirit will be missed by his family & many friends. The family sends a heartfelt thank you to everyone for their love & support during Walter's brave fight. Memorial on Sat., 11/13/10 at 10:00am, at New Auburn Cemetery in Auburn, CA. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested a donation be made to the American Liver Foundation, 4545 E. Shea Blvd., Ste.#164, Phoenix, AZ 85028 in Walter's name.
