Mildred Duguid Obituary

Mildred Ellen Duguid Jan. 21, 1926 - Oct. 31, 2010 Resident of Livermore Mildred, known as 'Babe' to many, died peacefully in sleep on Sunday, October 31, 2010. Born Mildred Ellen Wise in Genoa, Nebraska, January 21, 1926, she moved to California with her family at age 2. Her parents settled in Hayward, CA, where Mildred was raised, graduating from Hayward Union High School, January Class of 1944. Married to William Duguid in June 1951, settling initially in Hayward before moving to Livermore where they resided for 47 years. Mildred will be dearly missed by Bill, her spouse of 59 years; her son Mark and his wife Claire; her son Russell and his wife Margaret. A devoted NANA to her grandchildren Kevin, Aislinn, Cheyenne and Sierra, she shared many of their activities with them. She is also survived by her brother, James Wise, and her sister, Judy Reid and her husband Norm. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, Everett & Alice Wise, and her sister, Helen Coker. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Nov 4, starting at 6:00 PM, with the Rosary Vigil 7:00 PM, at St. Michael's Church, 458 Maple St, Livermore, CA. Funeral Mass will be on Friday, Nov 5, at 11:00 AM at St. Michael's Church followed by graveside ceremony at St. Michael's Cemetery, 3885 East Ave, Livermore. Reception will be held in the St. Michael Large Hall, 326 Maple St. Donations in lieu of flowers to St. Michael's Church or Hope Hospice, 6377 Clark Ave, Suite 100, Dublin, CA 94568. Bill and family, I am so sorry on your loss and my heart and prayers are with you. Most of all I will remember when your family adopted Charlie Brown and Lucy, my sister's ducks, and kept them safe at your home.
