Richard E. McNatt

Richard E. McNatt Formerly of Pleasanton Richard, 72, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 24, 2010 from complications with Lewy Body Dementia. He was born in Denver, Colorado and predeceased by his father Victor McNatt, Mother Gertrude Tando, and Step-Mother Mary Ogborn. He grew up in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, where he was a 1956 Graduate of Scottsbluff High School. He was married in the fall of 1959 to his high school sweetheart, the former Ilene Adams. He finished his teaching credential at Chadron State College (Grad. 1963), embarking on a teacher fellowship program where he finished his Master's degree in Mathematics at the University of Utah (Grad. 1966). Through this teaching fellowship, he formed a life long bond with Dr. Holland Payne who influenced him to move to California. Richard settled down in Pleasanton, CA for 28 years. He enriched the lives of many students during his 38 years of teaching. He taught at Robertson Junior High School and Washington High School in Fremont, CA. Upon retirement in 1998, the couple moved to Murrieta, CA. He was a devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Friend, and Educator. He enjoyed watching sports, especially watching, with great pride, his kid's and grandkid's games. He is survived by his loving spouse of 51 years, Ilene McNatt; his children Carrie & Jose Gorospe of Santa Maria, CA, Randy & Christy McNatt of Atlanta, GA, Michelle & Mark Roccoforte of Santee, CA, and Mark & Ruomu McNatt of Novi, MI; his eight grandchildren Christina Gorospe, Joshua Gorospe, Bryan McNatt, Kyle McNatt, Amanda Roccoforte, Anthony Roccoforte, Zanna McNatt, and Mason McNatt; his brother and sister in-law Jack & Jeri Ogborn of Torrington, WY, and Sister and Brother in-law Vicki & Fred Birdwell of Greeley, Colorado. Please join us to celebrate the life of Richard E. McNatt. A memorial service is being held at the England Family Mortuary located at 27135 Madison Ave., Temecula CA 92590 on November 24, 2010 at 10am. A reception will immediately follow at The Colony Community Clubhouse located on Colony Drive in Murrieta, CA.
