Michael Gary Thompson Jul. 9, 1946 - Oct. 30, 2010 Resident of Fremont Michael Gary Thompson passed away after a valiant long struggle following a stroke. He touched many lives with his fun loving spirit and his positive outlook on life. He was a long time resident of Fremont. Michael was a strong Christian and attended church regularly. He was a committed worker for many years at the General Motors plant in Fremont. When the Nummi plant opened in Fremont he worked there throughout his working years. One of Michael's lifelong passions was cars. Michael enjoyed spending time with his daughter, Erin. He enjoyed good food and socializing with friends and family. Reading car magazines, drawing funny pictures, and telling silly jokes were some of the fun things he enjoyed. He will be remembered for his love for conversation and his boisterous, loving laughter. He is predeceased in death by his father, Leland Thompson and his mother Shirley Thompson. Michael is survived by his devoted and loving daughter, Erin Thompson of Pleasanton. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law David and Michele Thompson of Orinda, his sister Linda Thompson-Bomar of Pleasant Hill, and his brother and sister-in-law Patrick and Elizabeth Thompson of Alameda. He is also survived by his step children Michael Medeiros, Amy Neely, and Nina Medeiros. He is also survived by his nephews Zachary, Joshua, and Alexander Thompson, William Stefani, Jr., and Kelan Bomar. His nieces include Giselle Peoples, Victoria Richter, and Audrey Bomar. He is also survived by step-grandchildren and great-nieces. His helpful, patient, fun loving, caring spirit will be missed by all who knew him.
