Mark Matthew Aragon, 32 of Oakland, CA went home to be with the Lord on November 4, 2010. He was born in Oakland, CA on March 10, 1978. He is survived by his loving wife Leila Ruiz Aragon, daughters Keila, Jeilen and Isabel, parents Adolfo and Weveline Aragon of Oakland, sister Hazel Kim and her husband Jamie Kim of Danville, brother Alvin Aragon of Oakland, and numerous nieces & nephews. Mark was employed at Fed Ex Corp in Oakland, and Best Buy in Emeryville. By his family and closet friends, Mark will be remembered as being easy going, incredibly loving, approachable, supportive, loyal, a great listener, and a faithful friend. Mark served faithfully as a Mighty Warrior for Christ at Refuge Community Church in Lafayette, CA. Visitations: November 9th & 10th, 2pm - 8pm Chapel of the Chimes, 4499 Piedmont Avenue, Oakland, CA. Celebration of Life Mass: November 11th, 9:30am at Cathedral of Christ the Light, 2121 Harrison Avenue, Oakland, CA. Memorials: In lieu of flower donations can be made to Mark Aragon Memorial Fund, in care of Bank of America Bank, Acct. #05362-74253.

I was sadden to hear of Mark's untimely death. I had the pleasure of being one of Mark's High school teachers. The thought that came to me during his mass this week was that former students are supposed to attend the funerals of their old teachers not the other way around. But as scripture points out to us our ways are not God's ways. God be with you all at this very trying time.

My dear Mark,
I thank God for the gift of your person to our Cacdac family. You were a chosen One, I remember you as an obedient, thoughtful and loving son of Wevy and Ador. Thank you for giving up your room when we stayed in your home and for lending us your car for our use. you were gifted with a generous heart and always making yourself available to help anyone in need. Your parents are so proud of you and loves you so much. Your sojourn here on earth was brief but you made a dent by being who you were to us. You were loved by all those around you and I could still see those smiling eyes and bear hugs. We will miss you but will walk in this world for you. God loves you so much He took you at your best! Pray for us dear Mark, be our intercessor in heaven.

Mark was like a brother; we were elementary school classmates. Auntie Belen & Uncle Adolfo used to peel oranges for us to eat. I was amazed that he knew how to cook macaroni and cheese as an afterschool snack. We played many card games, had a clubhouse in the backyard, Mark was obsessed with playing 'Axel F' on the keyboard, and was a friend to everyone. Our condolences to Leila, your girls, Auntie Belen, Uncle Adolfo, Hazel, Alvin & the extended Aragon family. May God's grace and peace that passes understanding fill your heart. I remember you as a kid when I would go visit your mom. We both worked at the same hospital. I lost touch with her in the last 8-10 years or so. I never met you as a grown up, but I remember you as a 5-7 year old, I think. You were always so well-behaved, and I recall how your mom just doted on you.

I am so sorry to hear about the tragedy that befell you...but you are in a better place than we all are. My loving thoughts to your wife, kids, family, and especially to my dear friend Wevie. God bless them all and comfort them during this period of grief.
