Helen Dickinson Obituary

Helen Mary (Bettencourt) Dickinson Oct. 12, 1930 - Nov. 7, 2010 Resident of Livermore Helen Mary Dickinson was born on October 12, 1930 and passed away on Sunday, November 7, 2010. She was 80 years old. Helen loved the Livermore Valley where she was born and raised with her five brothers on the family ranch. Helen was the daughter of Ellen and John Bettencourt. She attended May School grammar school and graduated from San Ramon Valley High School. She was a telephone operator for the phone company where she met her husband, Robert. They were married at St. Michael's Catholic Church in 1956. She was the loving mother of five daughters. Helen was an inspired gardener and spent endless hours happily working outdoors. She wanted to create a wondrous place where her eight grandchildren, could explore and discover nature. She found peace in her garden. Helen is survived by her daughters Ellen Andrews, Susanna Schramski and Elizabeth Dierking of Livermore, Mary Dickinson of Alamo, and Julia Seymour of Custer, Washington. She was adored by her Grandchildren. Visitation for family & friends will be held on Wednesday, November 10, from 5 - 6 pm Rosary to follow at 6 pm. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Thursday, November 11, 11 am at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 458 Maple St., Livermore. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local shelter or food bank. Callaghan Mortuary (925) 447-2942
