Gladys TAFJEN Obituary

Gladys Rose Tafjen April 7, 1911 ~ Nov. 7, 2010 Resident of Alamo Gladys Rose Tafjen passed away at home in Alamo on Sunday November 7, 2010. She was a native of Los Angeles, CA aged 99 years. Gladys was an Alamo resident the past 41 years and lived previously in San Leandro. She was the beloved mother of Donald (Virginia) Tafjen, Sr. of Orinda; dear sister of Robert Long of Santa Monica; cherished grandmother of Donald (Karen) Tafjen, Jr. of Copperopolis and Stephanie (Christopher) Rawson of Omaha, NB; loving great-grandmother of Tyler Tafjen, Ellie Tafjen, Hannah Rawson, and Madison Rawson; and dear aunt of Diane Conrad, Steve Long, Chris Long, and Eugene Tafjen. Gladys was preceded in death in by her husband of 59 years, Dr. Paul Tafjen in 1989, and also predeceased by her daughter Patricia Sabatini. A funeral service will be held to celebrate her life at St. Vartan Armenian Church, 650 Spruce St., Oakland, CA 94601 on Friday November 12, 2010 commencing at 11am, followed by a reception at the church. Entombment will take place at Mountain View Cemetery, Oakland. Those wishing may send memorial contributions in her name to St. Vartan Armenian Church. Hulls Walnut Creek Chapel (925) 934-5400
