Cecilio Devera Obituary

Cecilio Dayot Devera Aug. 30, 1928 Nov. 11, 2010 Resident of Union City Cecilio (Kitching) D. Devera passed away quietly on Thursday morning in his sleep. He was a gentle man who always had a smile on his face. Cecilio was born in Ilo Ilo, Philippines. He came to the U.S. in 1966 to establish a new life in California with his brothers and sisters. Cecilio is survived by his loving wife, Eva; devoted children Dennis Devera of Las Vegas, Mary Ann Frye of Delaware, Ferdinand Devera of Hayward, Danny Devera of Stockton, Bernie Devera of Stockton and grandchildren, Melissa & Jasmine Devera of Las Vegas, Steven & Michelle Fyre of Delaware, Myra Devera of Hayward and Jennifer Devera of Stockton. He is also survived by his sisters Fedelina and Leticia and brothers Emilio, Roberto and Leonardo. His smiles, generosity and loving spirit will be missed by all who knew him. Friends and family are invited to viewing on Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2010 from 4:30 pm to 9:00 pm and a mass and funeral service on Wednesday, Nov. 17th, 2010 at 10:30 am at Chapel of the Chimes, 32992 Mission Blvd in Hayward.

We are Ferdinand Devera's sister- and brother-in-law (ie, Lycia's sister and brother-in-law). The few times we have had the chance to meet Mr Cecilio Devera, he was always smiling. Indeed, he will be remembered as one with a very gentle spirit inside him :)
