Fred Palombo Obituary

Fred N. Palombo Longtime Resident, Alameda Fred N. Palombo, 93, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2010, at Kaiser Hospital in Redwood City, CA. Fred was born in Denver, Colorado, to Pasquale and Clara Palombo. Fred was a Veteran of World War II where he served in the Army Air Force in the Aleutian Islands from 1942 to 1948. He further served in the Air Force and was honorably discharged in September 1952. Fred worked as an airplane sheet metal worker at the Alameda Naval Air Station where he retired in 1976 after 32 years of service. He continued to live a full and active life where he continued to give service to his family, friends and neighbors. Fred was known as a hard worker who always gave his best in all he did. Fred is survived by his daughter, Susan Robin of Alameda, his three grandsons, Andrew Robin of San Leandro, Nicholas Robin and Daniel Robin of Alameda, his sister, Jeanne Odermatt of Grass Valley, CA and his brother, Louis Palombo, of Spanish Fork, UT. Family and friends are invited to attend memorial services on Saturday, November 20, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS) chapel, 1201 Grand Street, Alameda. Fred will be entombed at Mt. Vernon Memorial Park in Fair Oaks, CA.
