Mary Ybarra Obituary

Mary Ann Walker Ybarra Oct. 12, 1916-Nov. 15, 2010 Resident of Livermore formerly of Hayward Mary Ybarra was the beloved wife of the late Guadalupe A. Ybarra, Sr. They lived over 50 years in Hayward and together they raised their six children, Barry, Lupe Jr. and his wife Barbara, Gail and her husband Kelly, Karon, Dwight and Jane. In addition, Mary was a devoted grandmother to Danyielle, Carrie, Scott, Tina, Samuel, Hector, Joel, Kyle, Joshua and Nicklaus and great-grandmother to Brendan, Zachary, Caitlyn, River, Kaylee, Chloe, and one-on-the way! She is survived also by her brother in laws, Edward Ybarra and Raul Ybarra and their families in the Madera, Fresno Ca. area Mary touched many lives with her gentle spirit and positive outlook on life. She was born in Meigle, Scotland and married the love of her life during World War II, following him to America and settling in the San Francisco Bay Area. She was very proud of her a U.S. Citizenship, but never lost her connection with her beloved Scottish roots often attending the Scottish Games in Pleasanton, listening to her favorite San Francisco Scottish Fiddlers, pipers and guitarist Alex Beaton. Her family remains in Scotland and she will be missed by her brother Dave, as well as, many cousins, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death were her brothers Frank and Alexander, as well as, her only sister Sheila Dunbar. She was a Licensed Vocational Nurse and retired after 20 years from the Hayward Rehabilitation Hospital. However, she never lost her drive to care for others and would often visit the hospital to reconnect with her patients. Friends and family are invited to a memorial service on Saturday, November 20th at 1:00 p.m. at the Graham-Hitch Mortuary, 4167 First Street, Pleasanton. GRAHAM-HITCH MORTUARY 925-846-5624
