Olivia Salazar Perez March 30, 1919 - Nov. 19, 2010 Former Fremont Resident Our beloved mother Olivia, while surrounded by her family, peacefully joined her devoted husband Gabriel and her eldest daughter Maria Sylvia Martinez. Olivia was born on March 30, 1919 in Matamoros, Mexico. She spent her childhood and young adult life in Alice and Kingsville, Texas and at the King Ranch. She met her soul mate Gabriel at night school while in her early 20's. They raised their four daughters in Kingsville and in Corpus Christi, Texas. In 1959 they moved their family to Fremont, California. Her life was devoted to her husband and her family. Throughout her life, Olivia enjoyed hosting family gatherings, bowling with her daughters, family tamale day and could often be found at the end of a ball of yarn. Olivia leaves behind her three loving daughters, Raquel Lowman, Elizelda Perez and Anna Maria Rogers and her three loyal son-in-laws, Bill Martinez, Jay Lowman and John Rogers. She is also survived by six caring grandchildren and thirteen lively great grand children. Family and friends are invited to attend a vigil service Tuesday, November 23rd at 7:00 PM with visitation from 4:00-8:00 PM held at Berge-Pappas-Smith Chapel of the Angels, 40842 Fremont Blvd, Fremont. Mass of Resurrection will be Wednesday, November 24th at 1:00 PM held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 40382 Fremont Blvd., Fremont. Interment will follow at Irvington Memorial Cemetery.
