Lucille Nelson Obituary

Lucille M. Nelson Resident of Manteca, CA May 4, 1918 - Nov. 20, 2010 Of San Lorenzo/Manteca Lucille Nelson passed away on November 20 in Manteca at the age of 92. She was born in Balsam Lake, Wisconsin and was the oldest of 7 children. She was a former resident of San Lorenzo. Mom had attended teachers college and had been a teacher in Wisconsin. She worked at the Alameda County Assessors Office for many years prior to retiring. She loved gardening, particularly roses, carnations and peonies. For many years on Mothers' Day at Bay Farm Christian Fellowship she would bring buckets of roses from her garden to distribute a rose to each Mother attending. Mom was always happy to play the piano at both Lakeside Baptist Church and Bay Farm Christian Fellowship. She loved to go fishing in Wisconsin where she was raised and owned a cabin. She is survived by sisters Betty Swedberg of Redwood City, Dorothy Barr of Lafayette and brother Melvin Ogren of San Jose. She also leaves behind daughters Sandi Larson (Butch) of Manteca and Pam Enos (Ken)of Brentwood and son David Nelson of Castro Valley. She is survived by four grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Mom was dearly loved by all of her family and will be missed. We know she is with her Heavenly Father. No public services are planned.

Dear Family of Lucille,
I'm sorry to hear of your loss. Your mother was a dynamic person and always friendly. My mother has missed her these last years. She is 88 now and Dad will be 90 this month. I still remember your parents as they were in the 1960's and that's how I like to think of them and all the folks from Lakeside.
