George Gullatt was my father-in-law. I was the only daughter-in-law he had. I met him for the first time on his 50th birthday celebration. He was a very kind gentleman. He was known throughout his neighborhood as the local landscaper who always had money for the youngsters to purchase popsicles and juice drinks on hot days in the Summer. Mr. Gullatt maintained the residence of his deceased parents and honored them dearly. Although George "Tony" knew my name, he affectionately referred to me as "daughter-in-law."

As the years go by, my husband is taking on the characteristics of his dad. He repairs bicycles, gives to the neighborhood children, and serves as security and maintenance man at two of the liquor stores in North Oakland, California.

I met Tony on his 50th birthday. I was introduced to him by his son and soon, thereafter, I became his daughter-in-law. Tony was a pleasure to be around. Although I never met his parents, I know that he had a great respect for them, especially his mother. Tony was very hospitable and always made me feel welcome whenever I came to visit with him. He will be greatly missed from our lives.
