I am so sorry to hear about Joan's passing. I am still shocked and very saddened. I would like to express my sincere sympathy to Sandy, all her dear friends and family. I will remember her fondly....

I was so saddened to hear of Joan's passing. She was a remarkable person of great charm, wit and intelligence. While I didn't see Joan and Sandy too often, when we did get to cross paths it was always a fun and happy reunion! She was special. I am glad that she is now free from pain.

Joan and Sandy were some of my first friends when I moved to San Francisco in 1978. They opened up their home and their hearts to me. Joan will be remembered for her smile and her love of life. Sandy will hopefully find comfort in the years they had together and the deep friendships that remain intact.

Joan Helen was a loving friend, and someone I could laugh with as well as cry when the occasion called for it! She remains in my heart, but I will always miss the person and friend she was to me for 38 great years! Heaven has a new angel to watch over all Joan's friends and family, now, and I know she is happy, and free of pain, finally! I love you and I will always miss you Joan! Love Judy (Hynes)

I remember meeting Joan in 1980, as I had just bought a house from Joan and Sandy's colleague Barbara. I remember Joan as being funny, sincere, and great to be around. I became a realtor several years ago and always enjoyed calling Joan to talk a bit of shop.
I was struck and very sad to hear of her passing, however,, she clearly had a good life, a life that was hers. She was a wonderful, loved and loving, sharing person. I am glad to have crossed paths with her. My best wishes to Sandy and the rest of her family.
