Nathan Brand Obituary

Nathan Clayton (Clay) Brand June 13, 1935 - Dec. 2, 2010 Resident of San Lorenzo After a 2 year battle with cancer, Clay passed away peacefully in his San Lorenzo home with his wife, and family at his side. Clay was born in Bovina Texas and he moved to Northern California in 1940. He married his sweetheart Norma in 1957 and settled in San Lorenzo and raised their family together. Clay worked for General Motors beginning in 1955 and retired from there in 1983. Clay also worked for Otis Spunkmeyer in San Leandro for many years. Clay was also a Sergeant First Class in the National Guard, and was an active member of Manor Baptist Church as a deacon, a Sunday School teacher and served on the Board of Directors for Manor Baptist Christian Schools. Clay deeply loved his family and is survived by his wife Norma, 2 daughters; Carol Brand Southwick and Lynnette Brand Reed, 4 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. A memorial service is scheduled for Thursday, December 9, 2:00 p.m. at Manor Baptist Church, 1845 Lewelling Blvd. in San Leandro.
