Maria Faria Obituary

Maria Leonor Faria July 28, 1938 - Dec. 3, 2010 Longtime Resident of San Leandro Passed away at home with her son by her side on Friday. A native of Pico, Azores, Portugal, Maria came to California in 1971. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Manuel, in 2006 and her brothers Jose and Manuel Pedro. She is survived by her son Carlos Faria, his wife Jennifer, and grandchildren Isabella and Emmanuel. Loving sister of her brother Antonio Pedro and sister-in-laws Estrella and Margaret Pedro. Maria was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, family outings to the San Leandro Marina and attending local events at St. Leander Church and the Holy Ghost Festivals. She was a member of IDES and Fatima. She was a homemaker and childcare provider who adored children. A spiritual woman who gave selflessly throughout her life. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Friends and family are respectfully invited to the Rosary and Funeral Mass beginning at 6:30 pm. Thursday, December 9, 2010 at St. Leander Church, 550 W. Estudillo Ave., San Leandro. Funeral procession will leave the church Friday, December 10th, at 9:00 am and proceed to Holy Sepulchre Cemetery for burial. Visitation will be from Noon to 5pm on Thursday, December 9, 2010 at Santos-Robinson Mortuary, 160 Estudillo Ave., San Leandro, CA.
