Christine (Pacheco) Thornton Jan. 25, 1925 - Dec. 26, 2010 Resident of Tracy Christine Thornton, 85, of Tracy passed away on December 26 with her family by her side. Born on January 25, 1925, she lived most of her life in Russell City and Hayward before moving to Tracy in 1996. Christine devoted her life to her family. She prided herself on being a very independent woman and never gave up when things got hard: from raising her three children on her own to her 2-year battle with pancreatic cancer, she stayed strong. On almost any given day, she could be seen enjoying a walk around Tracy. She always had a passion for going to baseball games, and at family gatherings where music was involved, Christine would be the first one on and the last one off the dance floor. She is survived by her children, Adrian Brown, and husband Wilbert, of Hayward, Rolland Thornton of Tracy, and Bernadette Stout, and husband Brian, of Tracy; her grandchildren, Maurice and Amber Brown, and Serena and Damian Stout; her brothers and sisters Minnie Sanchez, Ben Pacheco, Joe Pacheco, Domingo Pacheco, Frances Serna, Mable Torres, Matilda Pasley, and Albert Pacheco; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Reyes and Virginia Pacheco, and her sisters, Mary Beltran and Josephine Nunes. Christine will be missed by all who knew her, especially her cat, "Fluffy". Visitation will be held on Monday, January 3, 2011 from 5:00-8:30pm at Holy Angels Sorensen Chapel, 1140 B St., Hayward, CA. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, January 4, from 4:00-8:30pm, with a Vigil/ Rosary at 7:00pm. A final viewing will be held on Wednesday, January 5 at 8:30am, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Joachim's Catholic Church, 21250 Hesperian Blvd., Hayward, and burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hayward.
