Mary Lantz Obituary

Mary Ann Lantz Resident of Hayward A beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. Mary was born and raised in Oakland. After growing up in the Bay Area, Mary went on to work for the state of California for 19½years as a toll collector on Bay Area bridges, as well as helping to assemble fighter planes during the Viet Nam war. Mary along with husband Bill raised two sons, John and James. The couple also help raise and shape the lives of other local and neighborhood children. Mary was known for her honesty, weather you wanted it or not, her sense of humor, infectious laugh and heart of gold. With a joyous attitude and standing 6' tall, Mary had a commanding presence in any room. After living a long and colorful life and overcoming many adversities, Mary passed away peacefully in San Leandro on January 6th at the age of 81. Mary is survived by her son James Lantz of Hayward, grandchildren: Jeremy Lantz of Redondo Beach; Raymond Lantz and Michelle Ford of Ukiah and great- grandchildren David McKee and Nicholas Cruz of Ukiah. The world will not be the same without her. Mary will be missed and remembered dearly by her family and all those who knew her.

Dear Jim and family, I am so sorry to hear about your moms passing. She will be missed very much as she loved coming into the store riding around in the electric cart and giving her opinion on everything, weather you wanted to hear about something or not. She will be in your heart always. Denise
