Margaret Maitland Obituary

Margaret (Peggy) Maitland Resident of Valatie, Born February 25, 1918 at 24 Cable Street, Belfast, Ireland to David McIlwain and Annie Laird McIlwain. She is the widow of Thomas Maitland who passed in July 1988, Hudson, NY. Mother of Jean, who died as an infant. Anne, Lynne, Paul Michael, and Thomas Philip. Grandmother to, Darryl J, Derrick J, Melissa, Tommy, (who predeceased her in 1989), Kimberly, Daniel, Andrew, Jason, David, Kevin, Sarah, Andrew A., Danielle, Megan, and Lauren. Great Grandmother of eleven. Great-Great Grandmother of six. Peggy leaves her sisters, Betty and Evelyn. She joins her brothers & sisters in the Glory of our Lord: James, Mary Anne, Samuel, David, Annie, Wallace, & Agnes who went ahead to prepare her way. She is mourned by many nieces and nephews from Northern Ireland, Australia and California. She also loved her church family at Clearview Christian & Missionary Alliance Church in Schodack, NY & Manor Baptist Church in San Leandro, CA., and was much loved by them in return. Services will be held on Friday, January 14 at 1: 30 P.M. at the Chapel of the Chimes in Hayward, CA In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Manor Baptist Church, 1845 Lewelling Blvd., San Leandro, CA 94579.

R.I.P. Aunt Peggy. I have been blessed to have you as my aunt. Even though you are gone, you have left me with many many wonderful memories. Many memories starting from my childhood when you lived in Castro Valley all the way to my adulthood when Mom and I went to New York for a "wee" visit. Rest in Peace we will see each other again.
