Joseph Pazik Obituary

Joseph John Pazik Jr., 58, of Virginia Beach, Va., passed away at his home on June 11, 2009.

He was born on Jan. 20, 1951, at Bolling Air Force Base in Washington, D.C., the son of Regina M. Pazik and the late Joseph J. Pazik. Joe graduated from Enfield High School and the University of Connecticut prior to starting his career as a naval officer and aviator. He was a veteran of the Vietnam and Gulf wars, retiring as a lieutenant commander. He loved flying jets, and as a Top Gun graduate, was proud to have flown his F-4 Phantom over the Pacific while serving on the USS Midway, and later the A-6 during Desert Storm. Upon retiring from the Navy, Joe earned a master's degree from Old Dominion University, and worked in the accounting field. With a scope of knowledge that was impressive to those who knew him, Joe was always willing to lend his expertise to others.

In addition to his mother, Regina, of Enfield, Joe is survived by his three brothers, Robert and his wife, Nancy, of Carbondale, Colo., Tom and his wife, Leanne, of Greeley, Colo., and Lenny of La Jolla, Calif.; three sisters, Jeanne Hoffmann and her husband, Chris, of West Granby, LeeAnn Littlejohn and her husband, Michael, of Enfield, and Marion Pazik Zordan and her husband, Gene, of Burlington. He will also be missed by his many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

In accordance with his wishes, memorial services and burial with full military honors will be held at Arlington National Cemetery.

Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield, has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.
