Juliette Carpenter Obituary

BURLINGTON - Juliette A. Carpenter, 75, died Sunday, March 2, 2008, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Julie was born on July 23, 1932, in Berkeley, Ill., to Arthur and Helen (nee: Barry) Bauer. She spent her early life and received her education in Berkeley, Ill. On January 5, 1952, Julie was united in marriage to W. Neal Carpenter at St. Domitillas in Berkeley, Ill. Following their marriage, they resided in Villa Park, Ill. and had been residents of Burlington for the past eight years. In 1990, Julie graduated from DePaul University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. She was a Watercolor Artist and a member of St. Charles Catholic Church in Burlington. Julie was also very active in the community; she was on the Burlington Chamber of Commerce and the Burlington Area Arts Council. She was the Founder of the Gathering (a local artist community) and a volunteer at Love Incorporated and Burlington Memorial Hospital. Julie is survived by her husband, W. Neal Carpenter of Burlington; six children, Mary Kay Yaeger, Sheila (Jerry) Lullo, Linda (John) Suter, Neal (Maureen) Carpenter, Laurie (Matt) Paterkiewiez, and Daniel Carpenter; 17 grandchildren; and five great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Robert, Lawrence, Arthur, and Richard; and by her sister, Rosemary Langan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Charles Catholic Church in Burlington on Friday, March 7, 2008, at 12 noon with Rev. Steve Amann officiating. Burial will follow in St. Charles Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 until 8 p.m. with a Prayer Vigil at 7:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Hannah Rose Carpenter Trust to be used for the welfare of Hannah, Julie and Neal's granddaughter, who has Autism. Julie was a bright spot in my life, as I'm sure she was in everyone she met. Her kind of enthusiasm for life is contagious. When I met her family at the wake, I realized that the whole family is like that. What special people! God Bless

Family of Julie ,
I worked with Julie at Love, Inc.
she was a special lady , we all liked her very much . Julie would write to me every once in a while to keep many people update with Julie's Journey on e-mail. She would stop in a Love , Inc and visit with us .
We will all miss her a lot.
