Martha Moore Obituary

Moore, Martha C. "Marty," lost her battle with cancer Sunday, Sept. 23, 2007. Marty was born Sept. 8, 1944 in Denver, Colo. to Don and Hazel (Mann) Spangenberg. She graduated from East High School in Denver and Sweet Briar College in Virginia. She received her teaching certificate at the University of Kentucky. She taught in both the Kentucky and West Virginia school systems. On Aug. 7, 1966 she married her husband, John. Their son Brian Clay was born in 1969 and their daughter, Stacia Hoskins was born in 1971. After moving ten times in the first 16 years of marriage, Marty and the family settled in Wichita in 1982 and came to love the city, it's people and the state. Marty was a championship tennis player and an avid golfer. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be deeply missed. Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 27, at Olivet Baptist Church, 3440 W. 13th St. Marty is survived by her husband, John; son and daughter-in-law, B. Clay and Stacey Moore of Shawnee, Kan.; daughter and son-in-law, Stacia and Trevor Wohlford of Lawrence, Kan.; brother, Don Tapy Spangenberg III of Denver, Colo.; grandchildren, Zoe and Reece Wohlford, Lexi, Tanner and Grayson Moore. A memorial has been established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice. Condolences can be sent to the family by way of www.cochranmortuary.com This is a Cochran Service
