welp, another year gone by, and guess what kid?
we're all still missing your great humor as well as the special love for everyone, you always seemed to have an endless supply of. we lost our dear ole mother, grandmother an great grandma last year, poor ole mom, that was and still is a tough one. sad to say your father-in-law, jim just passed recently. our heart goes out to karen. sometimes, it just aint fair. we all hold onto our memories and just keep on truckin' thru it all. gotta say, i will always treasure the memory of dad teaching you how to pick locks over at arrow wrecker. will never forget just how proud you were when you showed me the slimjim and lockpic set he gave you. you sure put it to good use when you were bouncing the drunks outta ole margaritas on douglass. here is a shot of you at your cousin justin's wedding, at wichita's own beautiful botanical gardens, from 2oo3. just look at you! mom and dad must have been so proud to have you usher them. what a great photo. i can truly say mike, you were one of my most prized accomplishments. raising you into the fine young man you became was an awesome experience that i was so proud to be a part of. thanks to good karma and perfect timing. we miss you tremendously, and as always, will do my best to let your kids, and everyone know, just what a stand up, all around good guy you were.
missing you today, tomorrow and always.
you loving dad

..was never a dull moment with michael todd growing up. we had some great times living and working in St Louis during the late 8o's. beside him being a Missouri state wrestling champion, big mike was actively involved with the boy scouts. one of my favorite memories from that time was when he had gone on a weekend camping trip with his den. he was so excited to tell us of the fun he had that weekend. they were fortunate enough to have witnessed the great and beautiful aurora lights! one can only imagine how beautiful that must of been. it started a great love for nature mike had till the end. he was also stoked to tell me how much fun they had had, "fishing for gar". right! he said a bunch of the kids would row out into the lake in a boat, throw out some corn, and when the gar would come up to feed... they would "bash their heads in with baseball bats".. oh my. seems the gar were over populated and the lake owner was having the scouts help thin em out. another great time we had together was going to the world famous st louis zoo. during one winter, we had a really big snow. mike and me had decided to go visit and check in on the animals. it was during wrestling season an the krazy kid was sporting his favorite haircut, a big ole mohawk! let me tell you, he looked tough. as we were walking around enjoying the sights, we came across a bunch of cub scouts also touring the zoo, mike was really excited to see them! and was waving an telling em all hello, boy you could sure tell, mike and his haircut were scaring the bejezuz outta them kiddos. hahaha. ahhh, some really good times. just seems to get harder all the time to remember some of the little things, but his laugh, and his love are still very fresh. forever grateful we have this page to be an ongoing tribute to one of the best kids i've ever had the pleasure to be around.
he's always on my mind and in my heart.

..well mike, let me say the year 2o2o has been a tough one. no doubt after losing you, a choice was made to come out of that situation a bigger and better man, that was really tough. and as time goes on you, would think the pain of your passing should ease. let me be the first to say, it hasn't. we still hold on to your memories thru small things, remembering your love for animals will always be one of my favorites. let me introduce you to june, the not so mini, mini bull terrier. this dog is a hoot and im sure you would love her, as we do. your old toy box is still in the family and it's still have it full of toys for the kids. your first harley T shirt from daytona bike week hangs on the wall of the ole fern street kitchen and is always a reminder of the good times we shared.
you're always on my mind.

Big Mike, I caught myself thinking about our High School days today and you popped up! We had a lot of great times together. I loved grinding with you on the football field and in the wrestling room. I stayed in the game of football and I have grinded my way to be a D1 football coach. I think about you often. I miss your laugh and sense of humor. I wish I could travel back to about 1998 and stay for a week. I hope your doing well in heaven and that your parents and your boys are well!

.. ...happy black history month . 2ol3.
mike was raised as a "free range kid"
meaning like when we went to the motorcycle races in california, we would take the 3 year old kid out to the 69 ford F150 and put him to sleep. go back in and watch the semi's & main events. never even thinking about leaving him alone in the truck with the doors unlocked. later when we lived in st louis.. mike was in the third grade, we would go to springfield, Illinois's fairgrounds to watch the mile motorcycle race on the horse track. mike would wonder of to the stables to check out the fair animal's.. by his self. fast fwd to him startin' jr high. he was introduced to wrestling with a "mostly" all negro wrestling team. he was more about attending boy scouts at the church instead of going to wrestling one night a week. it rolled of mike's back like water. he was a seasoned wrestler and had beaten a lot of kids .. many of them being black kids.. on his way to earning state championships in mo. & tx. entering high school as a 9th grader.. he was the sparing partner for south highs HWY state champion. a big ole black kid that mike wrestled every day. 5 days a week for 2 or 3 hours a day for 2 years. they loved each other and had a special bond. if you look back on this "guest book" you will see when he found out and how quick he was to display his emotions for mike.. that boy was loved by many and .
. it still seems like yesterday we were floored by his death.

..all is not well in t-town. not a day goes by that you are not on my mind. was thinkin just this morning about motorcycle racing and started remembering our last days together… tearing that ole kawasaki motor down.. sure was fun and i miss those good times and cherish the memories’ .. .brother.. bless the boy, is so much like you mike.. we are getting him a tool box for christmas sooos he can tear apart his bmx bike and fix his own flats, stubborn kid that one his.. puts his mind to it and will not stop till da jobs done, .. this is funny. ..kid next door was pushin him around just playin ya know.. well he would not stop till brother gits mad and out of frustration, had to kick the boys butt into submission,, n the kid is a few years older than brother,.. Then when he got home, we had to set him straight…
were the Anderson boys.. “we can do anything”
.. and… we are lovers, not fighters! Bubby, .. like brother is one kool kid as well.. it is one of my ongoing missions in life to make these boys understand just how great a kid you were mike, .. and that .. “in my humble opinion, made one horrible mistake” .. those boys er good like you mike and don’t worry a bit, they are being raised good..

Michael,
Today it's your Birthday, Honey.
The waiting room was full of your loved ones, waiting for you to enter this world.
I remember the evening you were born. How the nurse was rushing down the corridor with a brand new baby boy wrapped in a pink blanket.
You were headed to the nursery and you were so ready to begin your new life.
Oh, Michael I wish you were here to see Raleia. She is so Beautiful. Every where we go, someone stops just to tell me how beautiful she is.
She is 5½ years now and loves Chase and Braden so very much! She's so smart, too.
I cherish her every day, and I'm so greatful that I have her in my life. I let her know how loved she is.
She will be having a new brother or sister this July. I can't wait.
When I look at Gizmo or Sassy it reminds me of your love of animals and how you were forever rescueing
another animal.
Christy told me that Gizmo was sitting at your side when you left this world.
Ernie's gone now as well. I know he is in a better place.
I found a picture of you and Ernie together. It reminds me of happier times.
I love you Michael Todd and will miss you always.

Mike,
..2006 is coming to an end and without a doubt... it’s been one of the hardest years of my life. i think about you so often, well everyday as a matter of fact.. And it so pains my heart that you can't see be with those beautiful boys of yours. they are so special mike, just awesome, wonderful kids and growing so fast... what a genuine pleasure they are. … On a phone call a while back bub started to read me a book, and read the whole story of a big dog that could not go on vacation. A very cute story it was... brother is like you in so many ways.. especially his sense of humor, dang, that boy cracks me up... but it pains me so to see em grow up and not being able to know the koolest kid a dad could ever have, and that was you mike.. i cherish every memory of you son.. was thinkin the other day bout the time me n you went hunting, in 12" of snow, with jim kill. the truck got stuck and the wheels were a spinnin, i got out and started to push it and damm if the thing got traction and just started peltin me with snow… i was covered ... you and kill just laughed your buts off.... that’s one of the things i remember the most mike... your laughter, remember and miss it so much... man, its hard son... hope you are looking down and helping to guide those beautiful sons of yours, and i promise i will do all within my power to make sure they know.... their dad was one kool fellow..

Mr. and Mrs. Anderson, I don't know you, but I've heard at church about the loss of your son. I wanted to let you know that people you don't even know are praying for and thinking of you and your family.
I understand that Mike left 2 young children behind.
I lost my father when I was 4 and will forever feel that loss. I've learned now as an adult that the longer time passes, the harder it is to find people, even my dad's best friends, wanting to share their stories or thoughts of him. I don't know if you've done something already, but I would like to kindly suggest that you get with his friends and find some way to preserve as many memories as possible.
It sounds like you guys are still sharing your son's memory with his children, and that is wonderful, but I know that I, myself, despite the stories, have forgotten my dad almost completely. The more you forget, the more you are left starving for any little piece of information, and it's a harsh reality to grow up and find people unable or unwilling to share their memories.
I hope you don't take offense to this. I've just heard about your family and pray so often that those children are able to remember their fathers love. I know it is incredibly painful for everyone, but I urge you to preserve all you can, from fond or funny memories or stories to clothes or a wallet, or checkbook. If you have anything with handwriting, his voice, his smile, the way he walked, those are the things I find I miss the most. Physical items that can be touched tend to get lost along the way.
Thank you for listening. I'm sorry if I'm being nosy, I just wanted to do what I could to help another child to grieve better than I did. At least I'll know I tried.
God Bless you and your family. I pray that something good comes your way and you have many blessings in the future.
With much sympathy, Sarah R.

mike,
well, tomorrow it will be a year since you made your decision to leave this earth. ouch. it has been a tough year at best. the anderson boys got to spend the night over at our house for the first time in a year just the other evening. they, as always, bring a big ray of sunshine with them. it is great to get to see your mother love them as much as she does. that seems to be the one thing that helps her deal with the huge hole you left.
it seems that every time we turn around, another person is telling us what an impact you had made on thier lives. From Whitie, Chris Norton and all you friends.... and you had a bunch of em, to some of the kids who you wrestled against. Never has anyone said anything uncomplentary about you mike... all we here is good.....
promised myself a year ago,
that i would never go down the road of
. "why",
well yet me say, it gets harder all the time.
..miss you and will forever carry you in my heart..
xoxo...
your loving father...

Michael Todd,
Yesterday would have been your 25th birthday... It was so sad to see your mother hurt the way she does. She wrote you a letter and we took it out to your grave. I started to read it at the house before we left and could only get thru the first few lines before I started to break down. You can not even begain to know the pain she feels. Your leaving us is no doubt the hardest thing a person could ever imagine. I think that me being busy helps to keep my mind off of the loss, your mother... well you as well as anyone knows how she is.
On another note, Christy did a wonderful job getting your headstone in place. It makes me so proud to see the fine job she laid out, what with your wrestling, football and even a motorcycle engraved.... real class.
They say time makes the pain go away... whatever. We will forever miss you and remember the good and bad times.... those who live in the hearts of others...
...never die...
love
