As the new year comes upon us, I reflect back on the many memories I have. Some of the greatest moments in my life were the nearly 20 years I worked at KU. Especially those 15 years with OB/GYN.
One of my fondest memories was that of Kermit coming into the OR while I was having my youngest child. Telling them to get my c/section done so I could get back to work. We all laughed and laughed.
Never a greater man was he. He will forever be in my heart, prayers and memories.
To Doris, Sarah and the rest of the family. You all were truly blessed with an amazing man, husband, father, grandfather, educator, etc... Thanks for sharing him with us.

Doris and family: I just learned of Kermit's death last night (8/14/2007). To put into words his contribution to my life would be difficult, if not impossible. His kindness, his openess, his honesty, his insight, his love of literature, and, especially, his understanding of women was remarkable. Suffice it to say that he will always hold a special place in my heart and in the hearts of my family, whose lives he also touched. God bless and comfort you, and please know that you and Kermit will remain in our prayers in the months that follow.

Mrs. Krantz - I just found out about Dr. Krantz. He delivered my daughter on October 12, 1982 - the same day one of your grandchildren was born. He was everything to me during my pregancy...I can't begin to tell you. A more special man was never born. Both of you will be in my thoughts and prayers. He will be missed by so many...

I remember Dr. Krantz during the crazy, incredible experience that we all had while in residency. The flurry of his activity with white coat flapping behind him and a gaggle of medical students hustling to keep up with his long strides. His outstanding work ethic and dedication to patients, staff, residents, and fellow physicians have impacted lives all over the world. I am glad that I got a chance to visit with him and Doris 2 years ago at the KEK event. My thoughts are with his family, as we all will miss his exceptional sense of humor and his zest for life.
