Jimmie R. Hickman

HICKMAN, JIMMIE R. - age 70 of West Knoxville, died peacefully early Tuesday Morning, April 1, 2008 surrounded by his daughters. Jimmie was a veteran of the United States Army and an avid fisherman. He was a high school coach and teacher in Tellico Plains, TN, before retiring as a salesman with Burgin Dodge in Knoxville, TN. Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Rena Hickman and his loving wife, Judith A. Hickman in 1997. Jimmie is survived by his daughters and sons in law, Rhonda and Mark Becker and Rae Ann and Ben David McCurry, II; grandchildren, J.W. Becker, Ben David McCurry, III, Judy McCurry and Joseph McCurry; brother, David Hickman of Wartburg, TN; aunts, Christine Lett and Evelyn Mayes; several cousins and best friend, Carl Metcalf. Funeral service 7:00 p.m. Friday at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel with Rev. Roy Langley officiating. Family and friends will meet 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Highland Memorial West Cemetery for an entombment service with full military honors presented by the Volunteer State Veterans' Honor Guard. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the American Red Cross, 6921 Middlebrook Pike, Knoxville, TN 37950.
