Christian family - I can only imagine how sorrowful and intense is your loss and grief at this time. But please know that you both, and your son, are loved by people you have not even met. A whole year has gone by and every day Channon is in my thoughts. Her memory book sits by my bed and I find myself flipping through the pages just to keep a constant reminder. We are thinking of all of you (Gary, Deena & Chase).

May God grant you the strength to make it through. This is such a shame and loss of two people whom I'm sure were wonderful people. I have signed before several times, but as the holiday season approaches I can't help but think of the Newsom and Christian families this year...the loss you suffered and the emptiness you will feel even more without your children on these upcoming holidays. But Christ has Channon and Chris in His home this year, at His table, the shining star in His sky...may you feel comfort from your community and know it is more widespread than you know. Deena & Gary - There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of Channon. My memories of her go back 14 years. I pray for your strength that you may get through your first year without her. I keep things that she has given me close by at all times. I keep tabs on what's happening with the trial and I hope that you get what you want from it. Closure isn't easy - but hopefully, the comfort of the people around you that love you is.

To this day I still think of Channon. We worked together for a year and became good friends. We also shared an office together for that year. Everyone called us Mutt and Jeff because I am so short and she was so tall and we were always together. I miss her everyday ! There is not a day that goes by that I don't think of her ! Now the only thing I have left of her are memories and a card that she gave me on my birthday. I don't understand why this had to happen to someone so bright, beautiful, and young. I guess that I never will. To the family and Josh I also think about you all a lot. I remember a lot of stories that Chan would tell me about you guys. I pray for you guys everday !

I think of Channon often...if she would have liked a recent song on the radio, what she would have done with her summer, things like that. I have two teenage daughters whom I worry about often, living in the same world Channon lived in, and I pray they live life to the fullest, like I'm sure Channon had done. Even though I didn't know Channon, her life means something to me...I will keep in mind that life is too short and swift and those we know can be taken at any time. Although unspeakably tragic, your daughter's and Chris's death has not been in vain. You must understand that there is a spiritual purpose behind it, although only God knows the full plan. Christ is the supreme example. We would not know the beauty and majesty of our Lord without understanding the pain he suffered on the cross, and why he had to suffer. Hundreds of thousands of people all over the globe have heard of your daughter's story thru the internet and are moved to tears by her beauty and innocense. It's the kind of story that brings people together from different regions of the world, races, and ethnicities. May the Lord bless you and comfort you.
