Mary Armata Obituary

MARY ELIZABETH ARMATA

(nee CUFF)

Mary Elizabeth Armata, 70, of Oakville, Ontario, passed away at St. Joseph's Health Care Centre on July 4, 2015. She was a devoted wife of over 45 years to Richard and a loving mother to Natalie. They will miss her deeply, as well as her sister, Sally Ashton (Norman Widman), her niece Elizabeth, nephew Robert (Robbie), elder brother Dr. William (Bill) Cuff (Susan) and her nieces Sarah Olynick (Jon), Ashley, Katy and nephew Michael. Mary committed herself to serving the Lord throughout her life. For more than twelve years, Mary devoted her time to the Bible Study Fellowship, serving as group leader for a number of them, as well as The Christian Women's Club, serving a time as President (Mississauga section). Mary and Richard have been devout lifelong Christians, including being involved in their local churches for many years and volunteering for close to thirteen years at Chartwell Church's 'Vintage' senior ministry. Mary is known for her love of books, her willingness to laugh at a silly joke and her practical wisdom. Most of all, Mary will be remembered for her beautiful smile, loving personality, heart of gold and generous spirit. She will be sorely missed. Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., at Windermere, east of the Jane Subway on Friday, July 10, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Service in the Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the CAMH Foundation and/or the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
