My condolences to all of Ken's family, I have known Ken for many years as he was one of the nice people that took me under his wing and made me feel very welcomed as a new bus driver many years ago. There were some people back then who could make a new driver not feel too welcomed at all, but Ken made sure that I knew what I needed to know and was a friendly face, with a story to tell. Ken would come in from his morning Dayton paper run before starting his bus route, and it always amazed me that he could get up that early to do that route and then drive, always bright and perky! Then fortune would have it years later that Ken's son Perry and his wife Kelly would build their home right next door. My husband and I have had the joy of watching each child grow from baby and now going off to college. We have visited with Ken and Gert throughout these years when they have been over to see their family, they all seem like family in a way. Ken coming over to put in the garden. I see Carter driving the old car and think Ken's there and remember that it's Carter's car now. Larry and I have both been honored knowing Ken and the legacy of his family that he and his wife Gert loved so much. He lives on through them each and every day.
