So sorry to hear of Rich's passing. He was a dear friend and research partner throughout nearly 40 years at Miami University. We traveled together for many professional AERA and MWERA conferences where we collaborated on several research project presentations. He will be dearly missed.

Rich Hofmann was a good friend, a wonderful colleague, and a great guy. He worked closely with Andy Kerek, Max Morenberg, and me in securing a major grant from the Exxon Education Foundation to study the effects of teaching strategies on writing performance. It was always a pleasure working with Rich because of his affability and professionalism. We miss him already.
