Christine TRAYVICK Obituary

TRAYVICK, Christine

Christine was born on April 2, 1937, in Thomaston, Georgia, to Grady (Deceased) and Fannie (Deceased) Searcy. Christine spent her early life in Georgia along with her sisters Mary Lee White (deceased),

Inez Jaudon, and Fannie McCleskey (deceased), her brother Robert Searcy (deceased), and with many cousins and friends. Christine, along with her parents and siblings, moved to Dayton, Ohio, in the mid-1950s. While in Dayton, she met her husband, Eddie Lee Trayvick, Jr., and together they raised five children: Rose Alexander (Vic), Brenda Jones, Karen Trayvick, Audra Carnell, and Terrence (Sandy) Trayvick.

Christine spent the bulk of her work life in retail as a faithful employee of the Elder Beerman Department Store chain until she retired in the spring of 1999. She was a faithful member of Macedonia Baptist Church for over 50 years where she greeted everyone with a glowing smile and a hug. After her retirement she enjoyed her daily walks around the indoor mall or Lowes Department store with her close friends, and spending daily quality time with her husband, children, grandchildren, sisters, other relatives, and close friends. She lived a full and joyful life without regret.

Christine leaves behind her children and sister (listed above); 10 grandchildren, Christopher, Kenon, and Darnell Jones,

Dennis (Shavavo) Cochran, Ashley Procter, and Tierney,

De-Angelo, Sakkara, Jadyn, and Myles Trayvick; 20 great-grandchildren; several in-laws, Richard and Evelyn Ramsey, Johnny (Sharon) Trayvick, Louis (Arlene) Trayvick, Annie Ree Finklea, Berdia Minor, Gladys Souder, Earnestine Watts, Mary Jean Hall, Margie (Harvey) Canty, Laura and Virginia Trayvick; and, hundreds of nieces, nephews, and extended family members. She also leaves behind close friends Jessie Sutton and Susie Hawkins.

Funeral Service will be held at Thomas Funeral Home, 4520 Salem Ave., Dayton, Ohio 45416, Thursday, December 17, 2020, at 11:00 AM. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. In loving memory of Christine. I will miss her smile. Although I didn't see her very often, she always recognized me as family.
