Agnes May Littleton
Our precious, loving mother Agnes May Littleton Back, age 91, of Jacksonville, Florida, went into the arms of Jesus
December 16, 2020.
Born in Rowan County, Kentucky, on February 1, 1929, to the late Arch and Lorna Lewis Littleton. She was preceded in death by brothers Dorris, Orris and Guy Littleton and sisters Jewell Howard, Fern Hamm and June Richard.
Loved and so dearly missed by surviving daughters Lorna (Walter) Foer of Jacksonville, Florida, and Ponzell (Tom) Little of Houston, Texas; granddaughters Lorna Neuman of Morehead, Kentucky, Jennifer (Ron) Martin of Tampa, Florida, and Chandra (Scott) Wolfson of Houston, Texas; great-granddaughters Alyssa Neuman of Morehead, Kentucky, Aeris, Zoe and Lyra Martin of Tampa, Florida, and Violet Wolfson of Houston, Texas; great-grandson Blake Huffman of Morehead, Kentucky; and great-great-grandson Carter Conley of Morehead, Kentucky.
Other survivors include brothers Cephas (Juanita) Littleton of Morehead, Kentucky, and Philip Littleton of Frankfort, Ohio; sisters Ponzell Helterbrand and Teresa (Howard) Helterbrand both of Morehead, Kentucky; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She married Robert E. Back in 1953. Although the marriage did not endure, she raised her daughters on her own, with the grace of God, determination, grit and an abundance of love!
She retired from NCR, Dayton, Ohio, in 1973 and went on to work for Delco Products, Dayton, Ohio, until 1975. She earned her CETA Clerical Curriculum certificate in 1976. She also went to Morehead State University and made the Dean's list for Honors in Business and Economics in 1977. She moved to Houston, Texas, in 1980 and there she was the Executive Secretary to the President of Gulf Printing until retiring in 1991. She then moved back to Dayton, Ohio, to live close to her daughters.
She loved God, her family, friends and her little dog McKinsey deeply. She also enjoyed reading, gardening, knitting, crafts of all kinds, cake decorating, watching basketball games and collecting roosters and rocks. In Ohio she was known to her neighbors as the "Flower Lady" because of her beautiful flower garden which she worked endlessly in.
In a journal on her 75th birthday she wrote "The first thing that I think when I vision the happiness I have is my girls, only God can know my love for them and how grateful I am that He put them into my life. Along with my grandchildren, great-grandchildren and two sons-in-law I am truly blessed".
We are the ones truly blessed and grateful to God for such a loving, dedicated and wonderful Mother.
Mother, thank you for teaching us to love God, your unconditional love, guidance, caring and the morals you instilled in us. May the Lord take you in His arms and care for you now.
Graveside service will be at the convenience of the family in 2021 with a celebration of life at her daughter's house in Florida.

To the daughters of Agnes: I work for the podiatrist she frequented in Ohio. She was the dearest, sweetest woman. We always enjoyed her time, however limited, when she came in for her appointments. Losing your mom is a tough one, hang in there, and know that she continues to love you from above.
