Truly this world has lost a great man of God, but heaven is now an even more beautiful place. Anyone who has known Lee, knows that he has heard his Savior say "Well done, my good and faithful servant."

I was blessed to have the world's best youth leaders in Lee and Mary Smith. Lee was a steadfast example of Jesus that has helped guide me through this life of walking with the Lord.

Mary, I am praying that God will give you and the family the strength, comfort and healing to get through this time of earthly loss but heavenly gain.

As sad as I am about the passing of our long time friend and mentor Lee Smith, I rejoice in knowing that we will see him again and that he is with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

Paul and I have been married 55 years, and 55 years ago Lee and Mary became our friends. Mary with three little children took time for a new Christian to have a bridal shower. That became the beginning of our friendly love and commitment for one another.

Lee and Mary were dedicated to the Lord and served in many capacities throughout the years Ahead.

From deacon ministry, to visitation, to being the school director, the work For the Lord continued for Lee. A commitment to youth and growing new Christians.

The joy of serving alongside of them over many years, Can never be replaced in our hearts as many others can attest. I recall working with Lee and Mary at amigos, And all the ridiculous fun that we had! I think of the many times we got together and playing games especially Rook. The times we would go out visitation and wind up at Friendly’s ice cream shop, where we laughed and enjoyed sharing testimony about what the Lord was doing.

Many lives were touched by Lee Smith. His love for the Lord never failed, his love for his family was constant and he prayed for each of his children and grandchildren. However he reached far into the lives of so many others that only God knows of how many lives were changed by Lee !!

Lee Smith was a major instrument in building First Baptist Kettering from the early days til now!

I know he is with Jesus and he’s heard those words “job well done!” Lee We will miss you !! You were one of a kind!! Thank you for serving and giving to others!!

To the Smith family: I am here for each of you because I love you so much!! My heart aches for each of you during the very difficult time!!

Lee is a gentle giant of a man with a voice that resonates with deep devotion and a no nonsense outlook on life. He is devoted to his Lord, his Mary, his family. He loves America and the its God-given freedoms, even though he knew his sojourn here would be brief. He is one of those people who sees a solution to every challenge and is never timid when it comes to doing what must be done. I am sure that when he entered Heaven's gate Jesus greeted him with a hug, a beaming smile and a "Well done my good and faithful servant. Welcome home. We have a few things here you can work on." and Lee rubbed his youthful, healthy hands together and said, "Great! How can I help!" That is who Lee is.

Lee was special to us. He and Mary were youth group leaders for Terry in the 60s. See had a great influence on our spiritual growth and was a leader who we could gain Godly wisdom and guidance. I enjoyed having him as a softball teammate. Lee was always a joy to be around and a Godly influence on our lives. Lee was a leader who set a Godly example for us and countless others to follow.

Lee, Mary and their children have been one of the precious blessings of our lives. My late husband (Dub) and I have known and loved them, since our early teens. And I’m in my 70’s...
Lee and Mary were there for us then and always.
Lee always had a smile and a joke. I loved to hear him pray.
He was a special man. A lover of God , country, family and friends.. A man of heart. I know my husband is thrilled to have him in Heaven with him! Just knowing he was around, made my life better... I miss him already...
Love and prayers to all the family. Donna
