Carl NICHOLS Obituary
80, of Monroe, OH, passed away at his home on Monday, June 7, 2021, surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was born to parents Carl and Lessie Hollowell Nichols on
August 10, 1940, in Hamilton, OH.
Carl served proudly in the U.S. Navy reserves for two years and upon graduation enlisted for active duty and was assigned to the ship USS Shenandoah (AD-26) destroyer with honorable discharge. After returning home from military service, he worked at Pepsi Co in Hamilton as a route delivery driver. He later took a position at Armco Steel (AK) in 1965 where he
retired with 35 years of service on June 30, 2000. He had a knack for fixing things and helping just about anyone who would ask.
Carl was married to Lila Soles Nichols on August 25, 1973. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Lila Soles Nichols; his sons Jeffrey Nichols, Robert Nichols (Deana), Rick Krohn (Carol); grandchildren, Ashlynn Krohn, Chase Krohn, Robert Nichols, Jr, Joseph Nichols, Kyle Nichols and Jacob Nichols. He was predeceased by his brother, Orville Nichols.
Family will receive friends for visitation from 10:00 am – 11:00 am, Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave., Hamilton, OH 45015 with brief service at 11:00 am. Burial will take place following the service at Rose Hill Burial Park with military honors. A gathering to honor Carl's life will be held from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm at The Blank Space, 220 S. 3 rd Street, Hamilton, OH 45011. A full lunch with
assorted drinks will be provided at 12:30 pm.
In lieu of sending flowers, the family request donations in support of Butler Co. Elder Care, American Kidney Fund or the animal shelter in Monroe, OH.
