In the grain of a generous community, Tom was a mentor and friend leaving an impression that remains even today beyond the term of his own life.

Tom Griffith may have been an art teacher, but taught more than that.
I distinctly recall him me to use the most simple language possible when speaking. This advice came I tried to use a word, in order sound mightier than I was. A true renaissance man.

Tom was a mentor and friend at a very important time in my life. Without him, I am not sure I would have lasted more than a few years as an educator. Tom taught me how to make my life fit in my career and vice versa. He was the soul of the Junior High for decades and the go-to guy for district history. He leaves behind a legacy of (now grown) children and fellow educators touched by his love and kindness.

Tom was my art teacher in eighth grade, and next-door neighbor growing up on Lookout Drive. He was always easy to talk to, and a very special teacher. He will be missed.

Mr. Griffith was one of my favorite teachers in grade school. He treated every student with respect and was a man of great integrity. He was always so kind when I was struggling to fit in and I was always welcome to eat lunch in the art room. He made it a safe space where you could go and always feel comfortable. I have many fond memories in his class. Rest easy sir, you did a great job here on this earth.

Nothing better can be said about someone than, "He was a good man." And Tom was a good man.

A wonderful man and a nurturing teacher. I can't think of enough good things to say about him and the way he taught. Rest in peace.
