Gloria and Don were my customers at Lowe´s. I must have sold them three kitchens over the years. They were great people and so in love. When I first met them Gloria was putting on singing and dancing shows at nursing homes to entertain the residents. She was quite talented. Gloria started losing her eye sight and had to stop putting on shows but she was still very active. They were always working on their houses and Don would inevitably need something from Lowe´s. So he´d drop Gloria off at the front doors and send her in....she was almost blind by then, to find me to help her get whatever was needed to finish the project. They Drove to Columbus regularly so that Don could gamble and Gloria could play the slot machines. She told me that she had garage sales over The Weekend to make money then they went to the casino on Tuesday´s. Don would play until he won enough money for them to eat lunch at the Chinese restaurant near the casino. All this was going on and they were in their 90´s. I think of them often especially when I drive by their old house on Lagonda. They cherished each other and I do miss them but I´m blessed to have know them. Don and Gloria always brightened my day when they stopped into Lowe´s to see me.
