I had the honor and joy of meeting Mr. Barnette on June 16th, 2015 in line at the title office in Middletown, Ohio. Everyone knows I love to talk and meet new people, emphasis on talk. That day Mr. Barnette's story was fascinating and captivating. I could have listened to him all day. Being a Navy veteran myself I was in awe of his extraordinary and unique military service. I posted about my gift of his conversation on a local FB page and the response by those that knew him was overwhelming. I am sorry I never had the chance or took the time to get to know this fine man and remarkable citizen further. Fair winds and following seas, Mr. Barnette. Our hometown, our Navy, and our world is better because of you.
