Wilma Cacioppo Obituary

CACIOPPO, Wilma Jean

Wilma Jean Cacioppo, age 93, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away on July 29th, 2021. Jean was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Dr. Anthony J. Cacioppo, who was the love of her life. Jean is survived by her three children, Diana Limbert (Steve), Toni Fogle (Chuck), and Gian Cacioppo (Gabrielle), and by her 8 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Jean was a devoted wife to Tony, and together they raised three successful children. Jean instilled in her children a strong love for family. She was raised on a farm in Northern Ohio, where she gained an incredible work ethic and a fighting

spirit. She loved to regale her family and many friends with stories of her childhood on the farm.

Learning to drive tractors and plant crops led Jean to decades of volunteerism for Cox Arboretum, where she applied that same work ethic and dedication. Jean also had an artistic side, which showed in her beautifully decorated homes and her own private gardens.

She will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the James M. Cox Jr. Arboretum Foundation or Hospice of Dayton.

I was blest the first day I met your Mother. We shared a booth at Bill´s Donuts every Tuesday when we were there to crochet mats for the homeless. Your Mother was the delight of our Tuesday Group of Ladies. I was blest to have information about her locations after her home sold. Diana I Really appreciate you keeping me informed as I felt very blest
to get to visit her in her new
locations. She was a Real Sweetheart and I loved her. Thanks for sharing her with me. You are all in my prayers.

I miss my dear friend. It was such a blessing when we moved in next door to Jean 7 years ago. She was funny, kind, and generous in spirit. We shared many stories and chuckles over coffee and out in the garden. Several times I would come home and simply find flowers that she dug up out of her garden for me to plant in mine. We had many laughs over the large rock in one of my flower beds -she thought it should stand up on end and I wanted it flat, so she threatened to adjust to her liking on a day when I was not home! I looked forward to spending time with and hearing the amazing stories of her life. She enriched my life.
