I first met Jim in 1982, when I was an adolescent in my first community theater production at the Dayton Theater Guild. His quick wit and love of puns resonated with me immediately. Always sharp as an actor and director, and always kind. He is a Hall of Famer not just in theater, but in life and beyond. Thank you, Jim.

I was lucky enough to meet Jim in 2018 when he was part of the cast for a reading of my play at the Dayton Playhouse. Such a kind, generous man. I´m very sorry for your loss.

Jennifer, Jake, I'm sorry for your loss. I'll always remember the great times we all had at the family picnics. Your father had a great sense of humor. I'll keep you in my prayers.

Jim was a central figure in my theatre life since I resumed it in 1985. Very few could match his good nature, his wit, and his knowledge; I am blessed to have known him, to have shared an occasional stage with him, and to have been cast in shows under his tutelage. The hole his passing has left in my heart will heal, but I will miss him dearly and never forget his positive influence in my life.
RIP, good sir! My condolences and love to all your family and friends; may they take comfort in knowing just how much you meant to so many.

God must be planning a big show to call Jim to direct. Peace and prayers to the family.
