Mary SPITLER Obituary
Mary Elizabeth Spitler, age 79, of New Carlisle, passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2021, in her home. She was born in
Kenton, Ohio, on February 11, 1942, the daughter of Erwin John and Idella Nadine
(Dunson) Hastings. She was a member of the Good Shephard United Methodist Church, New Carlisle, a Girl Scout leader, competition parachutist, auto mechanic and seamstress extraordinaire.
She is survived by her daughter Terri Ana Monroe; son Carl William Schmidt III, stepson Lance Ralph Spitler; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brother John Phillips (Linda) Hastings; niece Michelle Baldeuf and nephew John Phillip Hastings II.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jack Ralph Spitler, daughter Cheri Ann Monroe; and her stepson Jason Lee Spitler.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, November 19, 2021, from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at the ZERKLE
FUNERAL HOME, 11900 N. Dixie Dr., Tipp City. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 1:00 pm with Pastor Harvey
Hinshaw officiating. Condolences may be made in Mary's name to the Good Shepard United Methodist Church, 1520 Styer Drive, New Carlisle, Ohio 45344. Condolences may be made to the family at www.zerklefh.com.
