Sorry to learn of Don´s passing. He was a great guy, with a great smile. Sure he is looking over his family.

My heart goes out to all of you during this time. I know you have a lot of fond memories and you´ll hear a lot over the next weeks, months and years to come. It´s all part of the healing process. Some of the many I have that come to mind. Elementary school age running around your yard playing hide and seek. I jumped over the bush hedge on the side yard and he swung at me and gave me my first black eye. Climbing the apple tree, eating apples, talking and getting stomach aches. Swimming and playing pitch at Eastview - all afternoon. Playing baseball in our side yard day after day. And going all through school with a great guy to look up to. When I came back for our 30th class reunion and we talked for along time and that when he told me he was recently diagnosed with Parkinson´s. I told him I had clients in my Y classes with it and there´s so much out there for them to do. What wonderful memories I have of your brother. There were no grudges after the black eye but a stronger connection between us. Those were the simpler times and a great time to grow up.

Don was a wonderful, kind and gentle brother except for one time when we were 8-9 years old, and I wanted to join the backyard football game Don was playing with his male friends. He didn't want me to play but Dad made him include me. On my first play he told his friends to give me the ball to run and he'd tackle me. Instead of tackling me, he stopped me in my tracks with a punch to the face. It was my first black eye and the last time I begged to play football with them. Of course, Dad sent "DONALD" to his room for orchestrating the play and yelled for "Kath" (my mom) to get ice for my eye. Over the years we'd laughed about that game. That's what I'll miss most about him, his effortless ability to make me laugh. Love you Don.

Even though it's been many, many years since grade school and high school, I remember Don dearly. He was always such a nice guy: kind, gentle, and friendly to everyone he encountered. I can still see the kindness in his eyes from his obituary photo. My thoughts and prayers are for all of you now.

Dear Janet,
My thoughts and prayers are with you and the entire family at this difficult time. Don was a wonderful human being and so blessed to have known him since first grade. He was a wonderful friend to so many, and loved his family immensely. You are in my prayers,
