I always enjoyed Joyce´s humor and her great love of books and life!
I got such a kick out of her glasses collection.
They always matched her outfit.
She is dearly missed.

I have done several searches for Mrs. Harn over the years but just tonight decided to try to include her maiden name in my search. She was my 6th grade teacher at Crestwood Elementary in the early 1960´s. She was a gentle soul , so kind and an amazing teacher. I have so often wanted to reach out to her and tell her of her influence on me. It sounds like she continued to have a positive impact on so many! My condolences to her family at her passing but at the same time, what a blessing to have her in your lives. Sending love and gratitude.

Jim, it is so nice to learn more and see the lovely pictures of the sister you so adored and always talked so highly of. To you and all that she touched so deeply, may the experience of knowing Joyce better your lives even now that she has transitioned <3 My heart is with you.

This group of pictures were all taken this year and are some of the last pictures taken of Joyce. Two were from her 90th birthday party. One is of her enjoying the sunshine in her driveway in mid July. The one of the three of us was taken after Joyce and Willis had been separated for two months due to Willis´s illness. The last photo of Willis and Joyce at dinner was taken just three weeks before Joyce passed away. It was the last time she was able to go out. These are all priceless moments in Joyces´ life.

Great memories from past family milestones. The pictures are from Joyce´s 80th birthday party and from John and Aimee´s wedding reception. So many big smiles from Joyce. She was always there for family.

We will dearly miss Joyce, but will continue her legacy of joyfulness and love.
Joyce touched countless lives. Each in a different way. She enjoyed spreading love and joyfulness. For me, it´s these past few years that I have learned her most important lesson.
When faced with her final few years, she could have retreated to her space, feeling defeated and spent the time feeling sorry for herself. Instead, accepting her limitations and working from her home, she began thinking of ways to use her time in productive service to others. She knitted scarves to provide warmth for those in need, beanies for newborn babies. She set up a scholarship fund for future students of music. She appreciated quality time with friends and family and carried on living a life. Waking up each day and putting her most into that day.
That took courage, strength and fortitude and I admire her for that resilience. We may not all have the same strength as Joyce, but in our own ways, we can take this lesson and apply it ourselves. We all have limitations. We all have our own hurdles to overcome. By making the best of each day, using what resources we have, to give back in whatever way we are able, we keep Joyce´s spirit alive through laughter, love and service to others.

Joyce was always positive, kind and generous with her love.
I knew her through Neptunion Women´s Club.
She shared her great love of books with us all.
We adored her piano playing.
Peace be with her on her journey.
I will think of her whenever I see the color pink!
