We have gained another angel my father
Richard "Dickey" Norvell
12.30.51 - 5.21.24
Read, wrote, and prayed
32 years as a sponsor and leader
These last 32 years were probably the most powerful years that my father Richard Lewis Norvell impacted not only our family as a father, "Grandpa", brother, uncle, and cousin but many others as a sponsor and leader. Daddy was also a friend who all of us could call on to talk to, listen, and then pause and say:
"You want to hear what I would do?"
"Now I´m gonna say this."
"Hey Kiddo, and okie dokie "
"I´ll see ya"
"Things have a way of coming around"
"Always love you Always will"
Memories flow of :
His amazing appetite
Great sense of humor
Beautiful smile
Love and expertise in Sudoku
And more
What was so amazing in learning from Glenn and Dawn who were both present and gave CPR a to my father in his final hour after sharing on gratitude he was attending his regular NA/AA meetings...is that for 32 years he didn´t just attend meetings ...He led with passion, consistency and sincerity.
He poured into everyone to enlighten and encourage and to give stern direction as needed or to just say "Slow Down"
Everyone one who knows my father has a different bond with our father and we value and honor all of our unique encounters.
We will continue to celebrate his life and his legacy. I invite anyway taking time to visit this post to Read, Write and Pray and embrace the light that my father Richard "Dickey" Norvell has shined on us on knowing he walked his path and lived in his purpose.
Thankful to everyone who was able to attend his home going and to all who shared words of kindness, memories and moments you shared with our father.
So thankful for the Infinity Coin Presentation by Andre Buck & Leon Henry & the Proclamation presentation from Roosevelt Class of 1970 presented by Sharon Calloway and the beautiful piano playing of "Amazing Grace" by Sherman Holmes.
Love & Light to everyone,
ShaNay Norvell

Where do I start? Mr. Richard was a man of powerful words to cause you to think. I've known Mr. Richard since 2004. He had seen me laugh, cry and angry.
Mr.Richard always told me I never have to invite insanity into my life again.
I took a while but after a few experiments May 7, 2007 I stayed true to myself and Mr. Richard was always there through it all cheering me on with gladness.
Thank you Mr. Richard for your experience, strength and hope.
R.I.P. Mr. Richard. I will miss you. I love you. Jennifer
