James West Obituary
The family of Attorney James C. West III, announces his passing into eternal rest on June 5, 2024. He practiced law for 40 years. Survivors are his daughters, Candace, Dana, and Kimberly West; his two sisters, Bettye Berksteiner and Juliette Holmes; and a host of relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life is Saturday, September 7, 2024, at noon, at Magnolia Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 5532 Silk Hope Rd., Savannah, GA 31405.

Condolences to the family. I pray that memories of good times with James will soon overshadow the sadness you may now feel and that you will find comfort in knowing that you now have another angel watching over you.
I met James in 1984 when I was a new attorney and for as long as I knew him, James always had a warm smile and words of encouragement. He was one of the attorneys that I looked up to professionally and that I also considered a friend. I will be making a donation to the DeKalb Lawyers Association Scholarship fund in James name so that we can encourage and support future lawyers and judges to follow in his footsteps.

James West was very well known and very well liked when we were classmates at Mercer University in Macon from 1968-1972. My husband, Victor Payton was also from Savannah and they had a great relationship and were good friends! May God bless James family with comfort and peace.
