Bernice Goodfellow Obituary

Goodfellow (Amlin), Bernice M.

Bernice M. Goodfellow, age 100, of Springfield, was born in Westville, Ohio on March 28, 1924 to Esta (Ballentine) and Herman Skidmore. She was a graduate of Lawrenceville High School, Urbana University and Wright State University. She was a teacher in the Northeastern district for 28 years. Bernice was a member of Plattsburg United Church of Christ. She is survived by her daughter, Debra Bell (Harold "Frosty" Frost); daughter-in-law, Janet Amlin; sister-in-law, Eileen Skidmore; grandchildren, Jeff Amlin, Jack Amlin (DeAnn Baker) and Julane (Brian) Walker; and several great and great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are stepchildren, Jim (Sue) Goodfellow and Anna Ruth (Stan) Runyan. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Dale Skidmore; son, James Amlin; first husband of 54 years, John Amlin; second husband, John R. Goodfellow; and stepdaughter, Nancy Nathaniel. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, from 10-11a.m. at Jackson Lytle & Lewis Life Celebration Center with service beginning at 11a.m. Burial will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Plattsburg UCC, PO Box 699, South Charleston, Ohio 45368. Condolences may be expressed to her family by visiting www.jacksonlytle.com.
