Dixie Brooks Obituary
Dixie R. Brooks
age 89, of Englewood, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on Thursday morning, October 10, 2024.
Dixie was born March 9, 1935, in Scott County, Tennessee, one of 13 children born to David and Lucy Hall. She loved her family and friends, and she loved Jesus. She was kind and generous, content in every situation. She had many interests over the years including ceramic doll making, playing cards, preparing her special Chicken & Dumplings dinner for family and friends, taking care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and sharing her faith testimony with anyone she met. Her unconditional love and kindness was a reflection of her unwavering devotion to Jesus, family, and friends, and resulted in a lasting, impactful legacy that lives on with those who know and love her.
The last of 13 siblings, Dixie is preceded in death by her husband Don, and son Michael. Dixie is survived by a loving family, including daughter Pamela (Kevin) Cahill, son Roland "Casey" (Rhonda) Foreman, son William "Bill" (Amy) Brooks, daughter-in-law Roxane (Michael) Brooks, grandchildren Shane (Simone) McFall, Heather (Martin) Brown, Velvet (Ron) Pritchard, Jason Brooks, Tyler (Toria) Cruise, Misty Brooks, Kelsey Foreman, 13 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
At Dixie's request, a private ceremony will be held by her immediate family while a celebration of life for family and friends is being planned for a later date.
Donations may be made in Dixie's honor to Grace Brethren Village, ATTN: Chaplain Phil Buxton (1010 Taywood Road, Englewood, OH 45322).

Miss Dixie was the most Godly Woman I've ever met I was very close to Dixie for many years,I traveled with her to visit her family,we went garage selling every week and then to lunch. We had a small Bible Study together once a week, When Pastor Phail left our church he told Dixie to stay close to me and not to let me fall away and she never did There was a time in my life that I had a extremely bad bout with depression and Dixie was right there for me,I didn't want to leave my house, but she did not stand for that,she would come and pick me up and make me get out of the house along with her talks and her prayers she helped me through those times in my life I miss her dearly and I will always love my Dixie Prayers for her sweet family

The sweetest Aunt ever..loved her family.and Jesus..always sent me letters and Bible passages which I loved..Will never forget her coming to California to visit..and raised some wonderful children..my cousins..Finally at peace and with her family..Love you forever sweet Angel!

Dixie,along with Don, was 1 of the few Brooks cousins that I could easily talk to (I was very shy growing up even trying to talk with family was & is still at times hard) She was always so understanding & loveable to be around. Mom still has the doll (Dixie made) she got as a door prize at 1 of the reunions. Til we all meet again someday

She was the sweetest great aunt.She was always kind to me and my family. Sadly lost contact with her in last 15 or so years but I never forgot her.
I know she's with the Lord now.She'll be missed.

Aunt Dixie and Uncle Don were always a huge staple in my life. There isn´t a favorite childhood memory or family gathering that you are not in. I love you always and glad you are with Jesus now with no more suffering.

My heart is broken, I love Dixie, she helped guide me in my walk with Jesus. When I was down she was there to lift me up. Every week she'd pick me up to go garage selling, I traveled to Tennessee with her to visit family, what a great time we had. Dixie was one of a kind I love you my precious friend you were as beautiful on the inside as you were on the outside and I will miss you always. To the family I want you all to know you have my deepest sympathy

I remember her when I was little and she was always just so sweet. She was my grandmas sister. I´m Angie , my mom was Vickie Schenck(stringfield). Aunt Dixie is rejoicing with her siblings and my parents now!

Dixie was a dear, dear friend, none better! She was constant in her belief in our Lord Jesus Christ; she was a great witness for Him with all she knew or met. Ron and I was her pastor for a while; she was a valued asset to the church! I visited her home often and we´d go shopping and to lunch. I talked with her about a month ago, I couldn´t get to see her because of my health; that breaks my heart! Meet me at Heaven´s gate, Dixie. Love you so much, dear Friend.

Remember as a kid growing up in New Lebanon Assembly of God Dixie always took at least one child home with her every Sunday and took him out to lunch at the mall she made every child feel special
