I remember Mike as a compassionate and generous man. While I was teaching in Middletown High School Mike would often contribute financially to me to help students in need. I remember one such generous response when I shared with him that a student of mine was homeless, sleeping in his car and working an 11pm-9am shift at a local factory. His parents had passed away and he was alone. Mike gave him an apartment and a job as maintenance manager for the apartment complex. Mike will always be a my ideal of the best of humanity.
