Powell, Elizabeth Jane

Elizabeth Jane Powell, 64, of Urbana passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2024 in her residence. She was born on June 19, 1960 in Urbana, the daughter of the late Gary and Lois Mae (McCain) Lockwood.

Liz was a 4-H advisor for many years. She was also on the Poultry Council, Goat Council, American Poultry Association and Dayton Fancy Feather Club. Liz enjoyed gardening, canning, genealogy, crafts, showing poultry and raising goats. She will be sadly and deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Jerry R. Powell; daughter, Brandi Elizabeth Powell; one brother, Gary Lockwood; Patricia (Gary) Austin and one nephew, Ryan Andrew Austin.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2024 from 4-7 PM in the VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana, Ohio.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 13, 2024 at 11 AM in the funeral home with Pastor Rob Blosser officiating.

Burial will follow in Concord Cemetery.

I am so very sorry to hear about Liz's passing. She was one in a million!! We met while attending Clark State and quickly became friends. She greatly loved her family!!! Please know you are in my heart and prayers.
